| | "Since the start of the season we have pushed in every race towards this title and we were able to come to Switzerland with a bit of an advantage," he said "and this was a good thing because I couldn't get to grips with the circuit here; it was very narrow and stony. We tried a few different settings on the bike to improve my feeling but I didn't feel quick enough to go for the win. Anyway we were able to enjoy some luck and achieve our goal."
"In the first moto I had to fight back after touching with Salvini at the start but I regained positions to arrive to fifth, which was good enough for the title even though Alex was second," he added. "Apart from a slip in Spain it has been pretty much a perfect year and for me this is a dream realised. I'd like to give a big thank you to all the team and my sponsors for helping to make it happen."
The new MX3 number one now plans to contest the final round of the MX1-GP championship at Fermo in Italy next week and will represent his country at the 64th Motocross of Nations at Thunder Valley, Lakewood in Denver on September 26th. |
